Hardik Pandya
According to reports, Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya is in talks to rejoin the Mumbai Indians, who have won the IPL five times. The announcement was made prior to the December Indian Premier League (IPL) auction this year.
Before being released prior to the 2022 season, Pandya led the Gujarat Titans to back-to-back IPL finals and the team’s inaugural trophy.
Ben Stokes will concentrate on the Test series against India and miss the IPL next year.
“It is true that there have been discussions about Hardik attending MI. An IPL source who spoke with PTI said that while there’s still potential for him to switch teams because the contract hasn’t been signed, nothing further can be confirmed at this moment.
It is still unclear who might switch to the Titans if Pandya returns to the MI fold because trading entails player shifting.
Hardik Pandya joined the Mumbai Indians in 2015 to start his IPL career, and he may rejoin the team in the next IPL season, according to a number of media sources. According to reports, the Mumbai Indians are willing to spend ₹15 crore to re-sign Pandya. Both IPL teams have been silent about this enormous agreement thus far.
To concentrate on red-ball cricket, Rohit Sharma might not play T20Is in the future.
MI will enter the mini-auction with ₹5.50 crore (up from the current ₹50 lakh purse) unless they relinquish some of their major acquisitions to boost the reserve money, since the IPL Governing Council has increased the purse by an extra ₹5 crore.
Saudi Arabia wants to invest up to $5 billion and sees a “significant” role in the IPL.
The key concern now is whether Pandya will play for the legendary Rohit Sharma, who has guided the team to five trophies and has been in outstanding form, if he does ultimately decide to join MI.
These are the questions that still need to be answered, and the whole picture won’t become evident until BCCI formally releases the final trading list.
