PAK vs NZ 2nd T20I: In the second Twenty20 encounter between Pakistan and New Zealand, field umpire Kim Cotton is a woman.
Hamilton: The second match of the five-match T20 series between PAK Vs NZ is being played today i.e. on Sunday at Seddon Park in Hamilton.After winning the toss, Pakistan chose to bowl first. In this match, something happened for Pakistan, which had never happened before in its international cricket history. In fact, this is the first time in the international cricket history of Pakistan that a woman umpire has played the role of field umpire in any of its matches. Lady umpire Kim Cotton is in the role of field umpire in the second T20 match between PAK Vs NZ.
45-year-old Cotton had created history last year, when she umpired for the first time in men’s international cricket. He played the role of field umpire in the second T20I match played against Sri Lanka and New Zealand in Dunedin in April 2023. From then till now Cotton has been playing the role of umpiring. However, this is the first time for Pakistan that a woman is field umpiring in any of its international matches. Earlier, Cotton was in the role of fourth umpire in the first T20 match played between PAK Vs NZ in Auckland. The Kiwi team had won this match by 46 runs.
New Zealand gave a huge target of 195 runs to Pakistan:
Talking about the second T20 match, New Zealand has scored 194 runs for eight wickets against Pakistan in this match. For the host team, Finn Allen played a stormy inning of 74 runs in 41 balls with the help of seven fours and five sixes. Apart from them, captain Kane Williamson (26 runs retired hurt) and Mitchell Santner contributed 25 runs while Devon Conway contributed 20 runs. For Pakistan, Harris Rauf scored three, Abbas Afridi scored two and Aamir Jamal and Osama Mir scored one each.
